New recruits for ARCS team
Interfleet’s Advanced Rail Control Systems (ARCS) team is continuing to expand, with the recent appointment of two key new recruits; Carine Marin, who has joined Interfleet from Network Rail and Andrew Love, joining from Atkins.
With qualifications in physics and mechanical engineering, as well as business leadership, Principal Consultant Carine Marin is a specialist in the European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS) and Automatic Train Operation (ATO). Whilst at Network Rail (NR), Carine worked on a number of ERTMS-related projects, including the ERTMS Infrastructure Framework, ERTMS deployment for the East Coast Mainline and refurbishment and ETCS fitment of the Class 313 test train for the ERTMS National Integration Facility (ENIF). Carine has been involved in the ground breaking development of ATO over ERTMS where she managed the project being led by Network Rail on behalf of the ERTMS European Users Group.
Andrew Love, the new Head of Train Control and Signalling, is a chartered railway systems engineer with over 20 years of wide-ranging, international experience in specification, design and maintenance in the heavy metro environment. Andrew has a particular specialism in very high-capacity metro signalling, including London Underground legacy systems; he has specified several recent line upgrades, led teams that have designed the first new link between London Underground (LU) and National Rail infrastructure in over 40 years and also defined all signalling alterations required to introduce the new S7 rolling stock. He has also assisted a major US metro operator to develop a system architecture and procurement strategy for a novel, highly-integrated train service information system and trained a new metro design team in Beijing.
Matt Phillips, who previously headed up the team, has recently been appointed as Interfleet’s new UK Director for ARCS, alongside Iain Court as UK Director for Infrastructure, and Magnus Conn as UK Director for Rolling Stock, to give an increased focus to Interfleet’s service-offer in each of these sectors. All three Directors will work closely with new UK Sales & Marketing Director Phil Hudson.
